In August 2014 I travelled to Baffin Island in the Canadian territory of Nunavut. We joined our expedition vessel in the capital Iqaluit in south-east Baffin before sailing northwards along the coast to finish in Resolute, one of Canada’s northernmost communities. Along the way we visited a variety of Arctic wildlife hotspots, including Isabella Bay (a protected area for bowhead whales), Milne Inlet (which supports concentrations of narwhal) and Prince Leopold Island (breeding colony of BrĂ¼nnich’s guillemot).
I have uploaded a small gallery of images from the trip to the website. Highlights included encounters with narwhal and bowhead whale, a swimming polar bear and a small group of walrus. Please visit the Baffin Island Gallery page.
